GENERAL RULES

&

SAFE SKATING GUIDELINES

ALL SESSIONS ARE PROGRAMMED FOR GAMES AND MUSIC. EVERYONE MUST CONFORM TO THE PROGRAM AS ANNOUNCED. For example, if I announce, “All Skate in the regular direction,” that means everyone skates in a counter clockwise direction, skating to the left on the outside of the red line.

MANAGEMENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO ASK ANYONE TO LEAVE AT ANY TIME.

NO REFUNDS with exception of locker deposit.

Parents may call rink phone and talk to their children at any time. We only page for parents or guardians. Parents, please make sure children bring extra money for payphone, lockers and snack.

We now allow cellphones, but please keep them off the skating floor.

All patrons must pay admission whether they skate or not, with the exception of parent or guardian spectators and children under 8. And please hang up your coats and put your other items up before getting your skates.

All patrons must report any injuries to the management, regardless of the severity.

Not responsible for accidents . . . . Skate at your own risk!

Skates intended for toe stops MUST have toe stops on them BEFORE entering the rink. (NO EXCEPTIONS) We seek to maintain the condition of our floor by preventing skating plates and other hard materials from digging into the floor. We do not allow skates that have been used outdoors. All skates subject to inspection.

NO GUM CHEWING ALLOWED ANYWHERE IN BUILDING. If you are caught repeatedly with it, we will ask you to leave. Gum is not only destructive to our carpets and floors, but destructive to our rental skates and your own personal skates and if you roll over it, it will make you come to a sudden stop causing an accident.

If you are pregnant or have a serious medical condition or injury that may be aggravated by exercise, DO NOT SKATE.

Alcoholic beverages, illegal substances, or anyone under the influence, will not be permitted on the premises.

While skating; no pushing, stooping, fast skating, cutting through center of floor, playing tag, or suddenly stopping at any time on the skate floor will be permitted, as these actions will jeopardize the safety of other skaters. We will have games and special skates that allow many of those things, but please do not do them during "All Skate." Beginner skaters should stay near rails to aid with balance and advanced skaters should watch out for them! All skaters, please conform to what is announced or clear the floor. Unsafe skating will also

be grounds for a time-out.

Skaters (and guests) are expected to conduct themselves as Ladies and Gentlemen.

No profanity. Repetitive profanity and foul or abusive language will lead to expulsion from the building.

No in-and-out privileges or loitering on the property. We do not allow young children and teens to just leave with anyone without being certain they have parental permission.

We do not allow anyone to play, run or stand around in the middle of the parking lot, please stay near front doors or within pay lobby.

Rink Associates only are allowed in the skate rental room, behind the snack bar, behind candy and toy counter, or in the front office. Unless an emergency, DO NOT COME UP TO FRONT OFFICE WITH SKATES ON! We have rink associates throughout the building, just ask your snack bar, floor management, or rental room associates.

No standing still on the skating floor. Please use ON RAMP to go on the floor and OFF RAMP to go off it. The Wigwam has had these ON and OFF ramps for over 40 years, they help keep skating traffic safe.

Please Do not climb over the wall or benches. No sitting on tables or rails.

All refreshments (food, drinks and candy) must be consumed in the snack bar area. If you are not eating or drinking, please make room for others that are to sit.

All rink associates are allowed to give you a time-out or send you up to the office with possible expulsion. Please show some manners to them while in our facility. Any profanity or disrespect towards them will be cause for immediate

NO hats, headbands, bandanas, beanie party hats or any other head covering are permitted on skating floor. This does not include safety helmets. No other loose or loosely hanging objects that could easily fall and cause an accident. Keep the snack bar seating area and front seating area clear of all personal articles. Please use shelves, hangers and lockers for all personal property. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST OR STOLEN ARTICLES.

Lockers and Locks are available for rent, our locks require a deposit in the case that it or its key is lost. For security purposes, all patrons must check with a rink associate before using a locker, whether you have your own lock or not. NO OVERNIGHT STORAGE. Thank you...

NO SMOKING in the rink. We allow 18 and over to take a smoke break outside the front door. State law prohibits smoking by anyone under the age of 18. If you are under 18, you CANNOT smoke on our premises.

Skaters (and guests) are to be neatly groomed; clothes neat and clean. Halter or tube tops, half or mid-rib shirts and sleeveless jerseys are not allowed. Pants must not “sag,” if they do, please roll them up and wear a belt. Basically, the same dress code as you would have to adhere to at any public school.

NO SOCKS, NO SHOES . . . NO SKATES!

No skates/rollerblades to be worn ENTERING OR LEAVING the building. ALL RENTAL SKATES MUST BE RETURNED BEFORE LEAVING THE BUILDING!

No heelies on skating floor.

NO CARRYING OF CHILDREN WHILE ON SKATES AT ANY TIME!!

This presents a safety hazard for the child in the case that one would fall while carrying a child.

Theft, vandalism, profanity, bad manners, harassment, and fighting are all grounds for immediate expulsion or possibly further action taken.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Roller skating is a strenuous and fast moving sport. By putting on skates and participating in this form of recreation, you are assuming the risk of an accident inherent in this and any similar sport. It is the nature of this recreation that people fall down or run into one another on occasion. If you are not willing to assume that risk, please do not roller skate here. If you doubt your ability to roller skate, please consider this notice before proceeding onto the floor. We can not be responsible for any injuries which occur to our patrons while they are present in this facility.

I know... I know... these are a lot of rules and guidelines. These are not in place to make one feel as though it is a prison. Just have the same courtesy as you would expect a guest to have in your own home. This is our home... We want you to feel at home here as well... so... lets keep it nice, clean, fun and friendly.... and safe for all. Thanks... Wigwam Management. Cool
